Chicopee Alpine Racing Volunteers carves a new Web site from Common Sense Design
A volunteer-run ski organisation - Chicopee Alpine Racing Volunteers (CARV.ca) - has just launched its first Web site, which was designed by New Hamburg's Nigel Gordijk of Common Sense Design.
CARV is run by some of the young racers' parents, as well as some adult racers, who enhance the experience of the racing community at Chicopee through social events, fund raising and volunteering at events. Its key aim is to develop the talents of racers of the future.
The new Web site provides support for new and existing racing families, and it also celebrates racers' successes. According to the site, "Excellence, sportsmanship and success is a beacon to all participants and should be shared."
Site designer, Nigel Gordijk, said: "The client wanted the site to remain fresh and interesting over time, so I added an easy-to-use content management system. This enables CARV's personnel - who aren't particularly computer-savvy - to update the site themselves by adding new pages, for example. They don't need to be tech wizards to do it!"
As well as CARV's latest news, the site contains tips and advice about healthy eating, fitness, basic equipment, ski tuning, and the latest technology.
