Common Sense kicks off a new Web site design for PPLSport
Web consultancy Common Sense Design has kicked off the launch
of a new Web site for Epsom-based sporting memorabilia vendors,
PPL Sport (www.pplsport.com).
The site goes live in June 2004.
Common Sense's creative director, Nigel Gordijk, redesigned the
company's existing site, which was felt to be dated and difficult
to use. With a summer of high-profile sporting events looming, PPL
Sport wanted to capitalise on the expected interest by making it
easier for enthusiasts to find and purchase the wide array of match
programmes, brochures and videos on offer.
Site navigation is much easier to use, with a cleaner page layout
and more design consistency. The site has been restructured to present
featured products in a more enticing way, thus increasing the likelihood
of browsers making a purchase.
After completing the interaction design, Common Sense programmed
several templates for various types of page content. These were
used by PPL Sport's in-house developer to produce the full site.
